Natural Language Processing as a Tool to Detect Anxiety and Depression

This study develops a method to identify signs of depression and anxiety using a computer algorithm. The algorithm examines data, including anonymized interview transcripts, to determine whether someone displays symptoms of depression or anxiety. An in-person screening is required to confirm eligibility; the screening visit lasts about three hours. If you qualify, you will complete an interview and a series of computer tasks.

Key eligibility criteria: Adults ages 18–65 with generalized anxiety disorder and/or major depressive disorder.
